Program at a Glance

Key facts for the Argentina program

Argentina is building a route to citizenship by investment under Decree 524/2025 — a notable departure from its traditional residence-based naturalisation. The framework is real and signed into the Boletín Oficial, but the defining terms (investment amount, eligible sectors, procedures) are not yet published, so this is an early-access, register-interest opportunity rather than a live programme.

Visa-free travel
~165+ destinations (Argentine passport, once granted)

What to know

Argentina has no live citizenship-by-investment programme. Decree 524/2025 (Boletín Oficial, 31 July 2025) created a legal framework allowing citizenship for a qualifying investment without prior residence, and a new Agency for Investment Citizenship Programs, but the Ministry of Economy had not defined the qualifying investment as of mid-2026. Any minimum-investment figure circulating online is unofficial. We register interest and notify clients when official terms are published.

Figures are indicative and subject to change by the issuing authority. Speak with an Ancova advisor for current pricing, due-diligence requirements, and route-specific eligibility.

Ways to qualify for Argentina

  • Qualifying 'relevant investment' (terms pending)

    To be announced

The framework allows citizenship for a 'relevant investment' for national development. The Ministry of Economy must still define the minimum amount and eligible sectors (expected to include renewable energy, agribusiness, technology, tourism, and infrastructure). No figure is officially confirmed.

Eligibility

Who qualifies

  • Proposed / not yet defined — official criteria have not been published
  • Foreign investor making a qualifying 'relevant investment' (definition pending)
  • Background and national-security checks coordinated by the new Agency
  • Argentina permits dual citizenship
  • No prior long-term residence expected to be required — a departure from standard naturalisation (pending final rules)

The process

From brief to passport

  1. 1

    Framework established (done)

Decree 524/2025, complementing Decree 366/2025 and Citizenship Law No. 346, created the legal basis and the new Agency.

  2. 2

    Define qualifying investment (pending)

The Ministry of Economy must issue a resolution setting the minimum amount and eligible sectors — not yet published as of mid-2026.

  3. 3

Application to the Agency (once live)

The Agency for Investment Citizenship Programs is to receive and assess applications and coordinate security checks.

  4. 4

    Decision by Migration

After the Agency's report, the National Directorate of Migration would have 30 business days to decide. Launch is anticipated in H2 2026, subject to confirmation.

Why Argentina

What this passport unlocks for the principal and family

  • Strong passport (once granted)

  • Mercosur rights

Argentine citizenship would confer settlement and movement rights across the Mercosur bloc (anticipated, contingent on launch).

  • No prior-residence pathway (proposed)

The framework would allow citizenship via investment without first establishing residence — proposed, not confirmed.

Get in touch
  • No. As of mid-2026 this is a proposed framework, not an operational programme. Decree 524/2025 created the legal basis, but the qualifying investment has not been defined and no applications can currently be processed.

  • Commentators anticipate the second half of 2026, subject to government confirmation. There is no guaranteed launch date.

  • Officially: to be announced. A figure around USD/EUR 500,000 has circulated in commentary but is not officially confirmed — treat no number as final.

  • A decree published in Argentina's Boletín Oficial on 31 July 2025 that, with Decree 366/2025 and Citizenship Law No. 346, establishes the framework for granting citizenship to qualifying investors and creates a new Agency under the Ministry of Economy.

  • The framework is designed to allow citizenship without prior long-term residence — proposed, and could change in the final rules.

  • Because the programme is not live, no official channel exists yet. We register your interest and notify you when official terms are published, verifying every detail against the Boletín Oficial before you commit.
